Southeastern Railway Museum

Duluth, Ga

GA’s largest collection of real, life size trains, cars and buses.

If you have little ones that love trains and cars this is a great place to take them! Our 3 year old had a blast. It is rich in history also.

The museum was founded in 1970, and it showcases over 90 pieces of rolling stock. It sits on a 30-acre site.

Train ride on the small train, it goes around twice.
Train ride. Fun for the little ones!

Greensboro Children’s Museum

Greensboro, NC

My family and I are on a new adventure! We’ve sold our house and are moving back to Charlotte, NC. In the meantime my son and I have been exploring and hanging out with family.

“Uncle Beth” and I took little munchkin to the Greensboro Children’s Museum and it was awesome. Such a fun place for kids! We spent almost 4 hours there! 🤪. Imagine that.

I’ve discovered he loves trains!
Here he is at it again.
And again…
They have all sorts of activities, art, sculptors and interesting things to look at, see, feel and touch. It’s as interactive as you can get!
Adults had just as much fun!
They also had an outdoor portion with fun crawling contraption and other various toys to play with.

• No reservation required at the time of visit.

• Masks are required for 3 and older.

• Snack station is available within the museum.

Candytopia 🍭

Atlanta, Ga

The weather has been so hot 🥵, so we decided to check out this Candytopia pop up. We had a blast! Although I felt it was a bit short but nonetheless, we had a great time.

There was a good crowd. At first you go room by room but then you get to explore the rest at your own leisure. Bonus, you get free candy in every room! My son loved that. Naturally.
Every props in there were made from candies. This is a playground of dreams for kids 🤓
Fun little tunnel to get to the next room.
This little guy lol 😆
I might have to come back! The adults had just as much fun as the kids. We spent a good hour and a half in there from beginning to end.
The marshmallow pit! Who doesn’t like a foam pit?? This was the last attraction and then you go into a gift shop with MORE candies.
Be warned, you will leave with confetti EVERYWHERE lol. This room has so much. It was even coming out of pig’s butts 🤣
This room had all sorts of figurines. from Cardi B to Beyoncé.
An actual swing for pictures.
SO much jellybeans to make this statue. Pretty neat!

Notes From The Park

• Plenty of parking

• This is a pop up, not a permanent place

• Masks not required for those fully vaccinated

• Kids 3 and under are free

• Free candy in each room

Amicalola Falls State Park

Dawsonville, Ga

We saw a lovely rainbow 🌈. Let me tell you, this hike was probably the most strenuous ones we have done in a while. My legs were burning on the way up. We took the non stairway up and then took the stairs on the way down. If you get super tired after going up it’s probably best to walk down using the stairs because you can hold on to the railings and there are benches to rest.
Wear very comfortable shoes! There were so much leaves when we were there it was hard to see what we’re stepping onto. Lots of little tree stumps here and here. Sometimes they’re marked.
Beautiful view as you walk down!
The trail back to the visitor center. The asphalt ends at the parking lot, the rest is dirt.
My son tried his best. He loved the way down 🙄😆
The rest of the trail looked like this.
The view from the top was amazing and clear.
Lucky boy, got a free ride.
This is what the trail to the top looks like, rocky terrain. Almost twisted my ankle a few times. Truly a beautiful park, can’t wait to come back!
Pooped out lol
There’s a small playground near the front for the kiddos.

Notes From The Park

-Strenuous hike but worth it!

-There are playgrounds for the kids, lots of picnic tables.

-Bathrooms available

-You can drive all the way to the top instead of hiking

-Camping on site

-Parking was plenty, on a weekday at least

Still Family Farm

Powder Springs, Ga

We cannot let fall pass by without visiting a pumpkin patch farm. My son loved this little farm.

This farm had a lot to offer, although not as much as other big farms but for small kids there was enough to entertain them. There were slides, hay rides, face painting, concession stand, flower field, photo stations, large chess table with little pumpkins, corn holes, and other fun activities. There was also an array of pumpkins available to purchase at a reasonable price.

Great place for the kiddos! Go as early as possible because it got crowded fast after noon.
