Middleton Place 🌞

Charleston, SC

This beautiful garden was full of history, luscious grounds, spacious paths, cute animals and lots of water for a peaceful stroll.

“The historic preservation work and interpretation of history at Middleton Place focuses on major contributions of the Middleton family as well as the enslaved Africans and African Americans who lived and worked here. The stories are a microcosm of United States history. From the early Colonial period through the Revolution, the early Republic, the Civil War era and beyond, they made a mark on the land, the colony, state and nation.”

We came a bit too late for some of the flowers because they had already bloomed, but nonetheless we had a great time. It’s very family friendly. We had my son there so we didn’t get to spend as much time as we needed to see the whole palace but we’ll be back. The weather was also ideal too, so that’s something to consider.

This bridge was so lovely, perfect for wedding photos.

I saw several baby alligators! They’re kinda cute 😆

They were also prepping for an evening wedding. I wish I could have seen the finished product. I’m sure it was spectacular.
This is the entrance, very welcoming.
Omg, how cute are these horses! There’s a section in the center of the place where animals were stationed. There were horses, peacocks, goats, and sheep that I could see.
When the guests leaves they let the animals out to graze.
Come and visit if you’re in the area!
